Il ministero del Lavoro ha comunicato i dati (aggiornati al 28 febbraio) relativi ai minori stranieri non accompagnati (Msna) «presenti» o «irreperibili» sul territorio italiano. In totale sono 7.066, di cui 5.626 «presenti» (79,6%) e 1.465 di cui non si sa più nulla (20,4%). Sono in maggioranza maschi (93,9%), quasi la metà è formata da ragazzi di 17 anni (60,4%) e solo una piccola parte (0,4%) è costituita da bambini da zero a sei anni. Prima di far perdere le proprie tracce la maggior parte degli «irreperibili» era ospitato in «strutture» (1.403), 8 alloggiavano da «privati», mentre non ci sono informazioni per i restanti 29. Anche i «presenti» sono accolti per lo più in «strutture» (4.587), a seguire ci sono i «privati» (706) e infine i «non comunicati» (333). I loro Paesi di provenienza sono principalmente Bangladesh (1.660), Egitto (1.058), Albania (763) e Afghanistan (902). Le regioni che ospitano il numero più alto di Msna sono Lazio (1.582), Sicilia (1.235) e Lombardia (796). Sono 287, inoltre, i minori stranieri non accompagnati che hanno formalizzato la richiesta di protezione internazionale.

Illegal immigrants found in a lorry

Kent County Council is set to take the Home Office to court in a bid to recover millions of pounds it is spending looking after young asylum seekers who should no longer be in the UK.
The prospect of legal action in the High Court comes amid concerns the county council is out of pocket when it comes to looking after those who have been told to leave after unsuccessfully appealing to stay in the country.
Social services support about 117 young adults who are over the age of 18 and have been classified as having exhausted all rights to remain in the country.

Eric Ciotti (UMP), président du conseil général des Alpes-Maritimes, a annoncé aujourd'hui qu'il n'accueillerait plus de mineurs étrangers délinquants au Foyer de l'enfance géré par le département.

Le secrétaire national de l'UMP en charge des questions de sécurité menace d'étendre cette disposition à tous les mineurs isolés étrangers à partir du 1er juillet s'il n'obtient pas d'aides de l'Etat.

Eric Ciotti invoque la surpopulation dans les 14 sites du Foyer de l'enfancedu département, dont la mission est d'accueillir en urgence tout mineur de 3 à 18 ans.

Le Foyer de l'enfance compte actuellement "224 mineurs alors que sa capacité d'accueil, qui correspond aux besoins des familles du département, est de 183 places", a-t-il dit lors d'une conférence de presse.
