Uno sbarco di immigrati è avvenuto ieri in Calabria, nel reggino. Intorno alle 23.15 è giunta alla centrale operativa della Direzione marittima di Reggio Calabria la segnalazione di un'imbarcazione con un numero imprecisato che presumibilmente si era incagliata tra gli scogli. Una motovedetta inviata sul posto ha trovato l'imbarcazione di 12 metri battente bandiera olandese con a bordo 46 persone di nazionalità afgana. Di questi 20 sono bambini, 11 donne di cui due incinte e 15 uomini.

Pretoria - Lawyers for Human Rights (LHR) has scored a first-round victory for the rights of eight children seeking asylum in South Africa, but who have been separated from their parents for various reasons.
The children – aged from six to 16 – may now for the first time enter South Africa’s education system.
The Pretoria High Court ordered the education minister and Gauteng MEC for education on Monday to provisionally allow the registration and admission of the eight children in public schools this year.
The court also ordered the education minister to review – within six months – the admission policy for public schools to comply with the constitution, by making provision for child asylum-seekers and refugees.

Children will again be held in mainland detention centres, with authorities setting aside a compound at Darwin's Wickham Point centre for families.
It is a significant shift for Labor, which has maintained a long-time opposition to detaining children. Staff have been told that minors could be held within the centre by the end of the week.
A Department of Immigration spokeswoman said work had been done to make the compound suitable for families, who would be held separately to adult men.

Immigration Minister Brendan O'Connor has also confirmed he is considering sending children to a modified section of the Curtin detention centre in Western Australia.
