Child trafficking 'on the increase'

The number of Irish children falling victim to child trafficking within the country is growing, a new report has found.

Experts have warned the sale and exploitation of minors is not confined to migrant children and called for the Government to step up efforts to tackle the crime.

The Children’s Rights Alliance (CRA) will launch its latest study on the state’s response to child trafficking today.

IMMIGRAZIONE - TRASFERITE LE FUNZIONI DEL COMITATO MINORI STRANIERI, PER I COMUNI NON CAMBIA NULLA

La soppressione del Comitato per i Minori Stranieri (CMS) insieme agli altri  organismi collegiali di concertazione prevista dal Decreto sulla Spending Revew (art. 12, comma 20, del Decreto legge n. 95/2012, convertito con modificazioni nella L. n. 135/2012) non determinerà una interruzione dei meccanismi di tutela e protezione dei minori stranieri non accompagnati in quanto lefunzioni del Comitato sono state trasferite alla Direzione Generale dell'Immigrazione e delle Politiche di Integrazione presso lo stesso Ministero del Lavoro e delle Politiche Sociali nel quale era incardinato il Comitato.

WOMEN and children, including unaccompanied minors, will be among those sent to Nauru and Manus Island for processing under a hardline approach aimed at sending a message to people smugglers that there will be no exemptions.
