Una settantina di immigrati, sbarcati la scorsa notte sulle coste del Gargano, sono stati rintracciati tra Baia dei Campi e Mattinata nel foggiano. Si tratta per lo piu' di uomini provenienti, secondo le prime informazioni, dal Pakistan e dall'Afghanistan. Quelli identificati fino ad ora sono 38, di cui 14 minorenni. Gli stranieri, in buone condizioni di salute, sono stati ospitati nel piazzale antistante la Protezione Civile di Vieste. Don Quijote tiene nombre, sombra y figura en Melilla. Se llama José Palazón, 56 años, estudió empresariales y en sus ratos libres dirige una academia en la Ciudad Autónoma. Porque, desde que fundó la Asociación Pro Derechos de la Infancia (PRODEIN), su verdadero trabajo consiste en ayudar a los menores indocumentados, inmigrantes de cualquier origen, mujeres maltratadas y defender todo de tipo de causas que, sin su presencia, estarían perdidas. Palazón iba para Sancho Panza, pero las injusticias de la vida le convirtieron en el mejor hidalgo al otro lado del Estrecho.

South Africa's Social Development Minister Bathabile Dlamini and her Zimbabwean counterpart recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding that will see the two countries working together to improve social services.

The partnership will focus on children, HIV and Aids, substance abuse, disability and the elderly. It follows an increase in the number of children from Zimbabwe who have been crossing the border to South Africa without their parents, relatives or care-givers.

"These children leave their country of origin for a number of reasons, including economic and social challenges. There has also been a noticeable increase of people with disabilities from Zimbabwe to South Africa in recent years. Like all other children, undocumented and unaccompanied minors need care and protection, South Africa is a signatory of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, which states that in all actions concerning children, the best interest of the child shall

Today in the Commons chamber Nick Clegg refused to tell me when he will end the immigration detention of children. Two years ago he couldn’t stop talking about the scandal of child detention; now, 18 months after pledging its end in the coalition agreement, he is strangely silent.
The newly appointed deputy prime minister used this issue to mark his coalition out from the previous government.
He said:
“It’s that cycle of inefficiency and ineffectiveness and inhumanity that we’re trying to flip round into humanity and effectiveness.”
