Las consecuencias de los tijeretazos en el presupuesto del consorcio Pedro Anitua -que gestiona Programas de Cualificación Profesional Inicial en el Cip Gasteiz y cursos para menores extranjeros no acompañados -'menas'- en el centro Ignacio Ellacuría- no se han hecho esperar. Las dos instituciones que integran este organismo, Ayuntamiento y Gobierno vasco, han acordado esta misma semana eliminar la formación dirigida a esos 'menas' y, por ende, los puestos de trabajo de las cinco personas que se encargaban de este proyecto en las instalaciones municipales de la calle Castro Urdiales.

A NEW child arrives to seek asylum in Coventry on average more than once a month.
Figures released to the Telegraph from Coventry City Council’s fostering service show that over the last 12 months, a total of 14 unaccompanied asylum seeking children and young people came to the city after fleeing their home countries.
The number is nearly double that of the previous year when eight lone asylum seekers aged under 16 arrived in the city.

AMNESTY International has sharply criticised Australia's treatment of its indigenous people and asylum seekers in its annual world review of the state of human rights.
Many of the organisation's criticisms centred on the Gillard government's so-called Stronger Futures proposals, which would extend elements of the federal intervention in the Northern Territory for a further 10 years.
The proposed laws would introduce tougher penalties for alcohol offences, extend pornography bans and continue a direction preventing courts from taking customary law or cultural practice into account in considering the seriousness of an accused person's conduct in bail and sentencing decisions.
