Un bambino su quattro è a rischio povertà, questa è la drammatica situazione italiana. L'Italia, purtroppo, si presenta come un paese che non ha un politica di seria di tutela e promozione dell'infanzia, questo è l'angosciante dato rilasciato da Save The Children. Un paese, quindi che "uccide" il Suo futuro e la Sua speranza.
"Per questo, tanto più in un momento di crisi quale l'attuale, bisogna riscoprire e ritrovare un impegno forte, chiaro e deciso in favore dei bambini e degli adolescenti che vivono sul nostro territorio", dice Valerio Neri, direttore generale Save the Children Italia.
"Il lancio della campagna si inserisce nel quadro di un più massiccio impegno della Ong in Italia - spiega Raffaela Milano, direttore dei programmi Italia-Europa di Save the Children - Nel 2011 Save the Children ha infatti attivato un ambizioso programma di cinque anni dedicato ai bambini e agli adolescenti presenti nel nostro paese, proponendosi di rafforzare stabilmente le infrastrutture sociali e di cura per i minori, con particolare attenzione alle aree più deprivate. Gli ambiti principali di intervento sono la lotta alla povertà minorile, la protezione dei minori a rischio di sfruttamento (come i minori stranieri non accompagnati), l'educazione e la scuola, l'uso delle nuove tecnologie, la tutela dei minori nelle emergenze. Una particolare attenzione è dedicata ai minori che vivono nel sud Italia, con l'attivazione di un programma specifico di intervento 'Crescere al Sud'. Tutte le attività promosse da Save the Children prevedono la partecipazione attiva dei bambini e dei ragazzi".
"Alterneremo momenti di comunicazione e sensibilizzazione. Diffonderemo dati e informazioni sull'attuale situazione di bambini e adolescenti, per concludere il tutto con un grande evento a Roma e con la consegna ai rappresentanti politici-istituzionali di alcune richieste e proposte concrete", continua Neri.
